Ice Block for a Summer Day

My oh my it has been hot here! Luckily my son’s current obsession is all things water, so I spent some time Friday preparing some icy things for a couple of activities to do with the little man. One was a heart-shaped ice block dyed yellow and filled with toys.

The next morning our oversized ice cube was ready to go!

Eli jumped right in and started hammering away!

Watering the ice to melt it down . . .

Watering himself to cool off . . .

After about 20 minutes of watering and hammering he finally got some of the toys out.

The fish made a nice little mold.

We had so much fun with this activity. It was easy and kept us busy for almost an hour!
